Our customer's Tortoises
We get a real kick from the many e-mails we get telling us of how much our customer's like their cactus leaves.
We really were surprised how many also feed the leaves to their tortoises.
It turns out that cactus is seen as one of the best foods for tortoises.
Here we have some photos sent to us by our customers showing their animals.
If you have some photos of your torts or iguanas (especially if they are eating our cactus) that you'd like to share with the world, e-mail the photos to us with a note giving us permission to share your photos. Tell us how you'd like your name and location listed also. You can remain anonymous on the site if you'd like.
One day browsing around on YouTube I found a video of someone's tortoise eating a cactus. I thought it was cute, so I commented on the site. the reply came back a few days later that that was our cactus the tortoise was eating! My, it is a small world! We are stoked to think that some of our cactus is being shown on the World Wide Web being eaten by a tortoise.
You can see the video at the link below...
Bonne Appetite little buddy!
The Shaftels Torts
The Shaftel Family sent us some photos of their tortoises.
This is a photo of (Left to right) Dupree, Betty and Kali. You can tell they are really enjoying the cactus we grew and sent to the Shaftels.
Yum-Yum. We've gotten so many e-mails telling us that their torts actually run to the cactus when it is laid on the ground for them.
Here, Betty shows what fun it is for a tortoise to eat cactus.
Kali, Dupree and Althea eat cactus to their heart's delight.
