Are you a reseller of Edible Cactus, a zoo manager,
or a restaurateur who desires good cactus leaves at a substantial price reduction?
On occasion we have a huge flush of leaves that
overwhelms our sales capacity.
This is one of those times.
We think that we should let our bulk-order customers know of these conditions
and let them take advantage of the circumstances and order large bulk packages
of our more mature leaves that would be getting too large for eating
if they were to stay too much longer on the plant.
We thought that all customers who wanted to agree to
the terms
should be able to realize a substantial reduction in price.
Here are the terms:
You agree to accept commercial grade leaves, which might be a bit lower quality
leaves than that sold on our normal pages, they will often be a bit larger and thicker,
but we think you will still be mightily pleased with the overall quality, especially when
you consider the price! A side benefit is that the older more mature leaves stand up
better to the trauma of travel in a box.
You agree to reimburse us for the UPS shipping costs, which we will not know until
the shipment is sent. So the closer to us you are, the lower the price (we are in
California).
If you are a member of PayPal, we will send the invoice to you through PayPal after
shipping,
and we cannot estimate the shipping costs beforehand. So we don't know your final costs
until the package is underway.
Be sure we know the e-mail address to send the invoice to (sometimes it is different than
the requestor).
The invoice will include the cost of the cactus, and whatever the UPS charges are
(which we pay up-front to UPS through our shipping account with them).
You can also pay by check after you receive the shipment and invoice, let us know in
the initial e-mail which you prefer.
The shipping will be done through UPS Ground.
This is an economical method, although it is much slower than the USPS Priority we usually
use.
To get to the East Coast might take a week.
The commercial cactus is sold as a forty five pound lot.
The forty five pound box is $60.
The total cost (depending on where you want it shipped) might be over $120.
You agree to send us an E-Mail requesting
this special deal, this deal will not pertain at all times,
it is when we have extra production and would rather sell leaves at a lower price while
they are still good for fresh eating.
These low prices are a short time deal,
the plants have put out a large flush of great leaves,
and we want to be able to pass on the savings to restaurateurs, resellers and zoos
We don't know when this current flush of growth will stop, when it does,
the plants will slow their new growth for a few weeks, and we'll change this plan and the
prices.
NOTE:
People who are East of the Mississippi might be best off to order
through our regular page,
the shipping costs for shipping such a distance eat up the savings we give here.
When we ship through USPS Flat Rate, our costs to ship anywhere in the USA are the same.
You can go to the UPS
webpage to estimate shipping costs to your area.
The data you will need to enter into their calculator is:
your zip code for receiving
our zip code as the 'shipping From' address (zip code 93444)
and the weight (they tend to weigh about fifty to fifty five pounds)
Be aware, there is no way to peg your shipping weight down exactly, the plants weigh
differently with each passing week due to the growth of the leaves. All we can say, the
package will likely weigh between fifty and fifty five pounds. We will bill you the agreed
price for the leaves, billing as forty five pounds. You pay the total shipping price, this
price will vary depending on where you are, and the actual weight of the box of cactus.
We are using boxes that are sixteen inches square. We pack them full of leaves, if they
are a bit heavier, well, that's your gain. You pay more for the shipping, but we don't
charge more for the cactus. It's cheaper for us to send you extra leaves than to have to
buy and use packing materials to use as filler in the box. We'd rather fill that extra
space up with cactus and send you a little extra.
This shows the bulk Opuntia (nopal) we ship.
The photos here show the thirty five pound box sizes we were selling earlier this spring,
we are now selling the larger fifty pound boxes.
They average just over fifty pounds, although the weight varies depending on the season.
The leaves will likely be between ten and fifteen inches long. They are still very tender
regardless of the advanced size.
