OK folks, probably if you hear the name 'Cactoblastus' you think of a Mad Max movie. But this is a real thing that attacks cactus and will cause huge amounts of problems in the USA. The Forest Conservation Portal is a website dealing with various forestry issues, they have an excellent article on this pest. Please, only buy your cactus plants from nurseries like ours that have the Department of Agriculture inspect each shipment to states that require it. We don't need this pest spreading around and destroying the native cactus plants.

Five to nine a Day Plan is a government website run by the Centers for Disease Control that gives info on the benefits of eating cactus. You can find nutritional information on edible cactus, there are several recipes on their site also.
